Son of Herman L. & Ann C. Christianson Broderson

Harold L. "Had" Broderson, 99, of Waterloo died at home Thursday, December 4, 2008 of natural causes.

He was born September 1, 1909 in Marion, son of Herman L. & Ann C. Christianson Broderson. He married Venette Shepard September 16, 1934 in Manchester. She preceeded him in death on January 13, 2008.

Mr. Broderson was employed in the methods department of Jon Deere & Company for 39 years before retiring.

Survivors include Howard (Frances Schaack) Broderson of Hampton, and Robert Broderson of Waterloo; one daughter, Marlys (Paul) Gahan of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister, Vera Broderson.

Services 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kimball United Methodist Church with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and one hour prior to the service at the church.
