Edward Glenn Hightower Jr.
After an illness of about two weeks from fever which ran into congestion of stomach and bowels, Edward Glenn, the nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Hightower died at the family residence in the southern part of the city a 8:40 o'clock Sunday evening. While the little fellow had been suffering considerably, not even the parents were aware of the seriousness of the malady until a few hours before the end came. Announcement of the death came as a shock to the many friends of the family. There was a constant stream of callers at the Hightower home all Monday to express sympathy and condolence.
Little Glenn, though but nine years of age, had united with the Methodist church only a few weeks ago, and no better boy or one more dearly loved by his play mates and others, could be found anywhere.
Funeral services were conducted by the Pastor Rev. T. P. Turner at the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment took place at the city cemetery at 4 o'clock.
