Mary Smith, 95,of New Freedom, died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury.

She was the wife of the late John D. Smith, Jr.

Born August 4, 1913, in Freeland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lille (Masimore) Allison. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ since 1933. Mary was a 1930 graduate of New Freedom High School. She resided in Hametown for 57 years and had been a resident of New Freedom since 1998. Mary had been a seamstress with various local sewing factories, the last being the former Glen Rock Sewing Factory for 14 years until her retirement in the 1970's.

She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne J. Sweeney and Kathye L. Ensor, both of Shrewsbury; a sister, Annabell Kline of York; a brother, Charles Allison - California; three grandchildren, Tracy Russell, Marti Christine and Melissa Ensor; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Russell, Kelsey Kupisch, Cory Kupisch and John Gray.

She was predeceased by three sons, Jervis, Sidney and Jackie Smith.

Burial will be in the Joseph Giesey Memorial Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
