Mrs. Verna Hurd, 77, of 4506 Catto in Waco, died early Thursday morning, April 29, 1982, in a Temple hospital following a long illness.
Graveside rites were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove at 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning with the Rev. Edwin W. Gorom, minister of the First Christian Church of Honey Grove as officiant.
A former Honey Grove area resident, Mrs. Hurd moved to Waco from Henrietta in 1964 and had made her home there since that date. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Hurd was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Jackson Hurd, who died in 1964.
Survivors include two sons, Marvine L. Hurd of Temple and David Hurd of Waco; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Hays of Austin; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Temple were in charge of arrangements.
