William Fuller Critchlow came across the plains with his parents as a young boy of eight years of age. The family crossed the plains with the Harry Walton Company from Garden Grove, Iowa. He lived in Ogden for the rest of his life where he farmed and eventually became the city jailor. He took a course in phrenology and traveled throughout Utah and Idaho lecturing on the subject. He died when he was 66 years, ll months and 2 days old. He and his wife Mary Eliza had 14 children.
