Mrs. Ruby Alexander, 86 passed away Monday, December 8, 2008, at Central Ms Medical Center in Jackson, Visitation is 10 am Friday, December 12, 2008, at Lakewood Funeral Home, chapel services are 11 am with interment following in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Ruby was born in Macon, Georgia on May 26, 1922, to the late Richard and Hattie (Clymer) Lane. She was married to the late W. Eugene Alexander for 67 years, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2007. Her son Michael R. Alexander and one brother, Jimmy Lane also preceded her in death.
A longtime resident of Clinton, Ruby was co-owner with her husband of Alexander Tile and Marble Co. until her retirement in 1998.
Ruby is survived by her son, Jerry Alexander and wife, Deborah of Rogersville, MO; her daughter, Linda R. Alexander of Clinton; a brother, Wilson Lane of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Wayne Alexander of Willard, MO, Mark Alexander of Marshfield, MO, Susan Dodsworth and husband, Doyle of Altamont, KS, Glen Alexander and wife, Tamara of Hobe Sound, FL, Lisa Alexander also of Hobe Sound, FL; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
