Mr. Ackerman was born in St. George , August 8, 1903 a son of the late Stephen . Ackerman and Mary Dukes Ackerman .
He was a retired employee of S.C. Highway Department. He was a member of the St. George United Methodist Church .
Surviving are : his widow , Mrs. Lottie G. Ackerman ., three daughters , Mrs. Johnny Crump of Summerville , Mrs . Louise Dixon of Harrison , Ohio , Mrs. King Parker of St. George: four brothers Thomas Hermon Ackerman , Emporia , Virginia., Stephen N. Ackerman of Columbia ., William Ackerman of Orngeburg ; two sisters : Mrs. Sarah Patterson of Enoree and Mrs. Helen Acker of Spartanburg ; and a number of nieces and nephews.
