Waunda Mae Wyndle, 87, of Mankato, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato with Pastor Dean Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, CO. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Waunda Mae Wyndle was born March 21, 1921, to Laurence W. and C. Pearle (Johnson) in Bartlesville, OK. Her family moved to Colorado Springs in her youth. She received a Diploma from Bethel General Hospital in Colorado Springs. She Graduated from the University of Colorado with her BSN and received her MA from Michigan State University. Waunda Mae moved to Mankato and was an instructor at Mankato State University from 1965 – 1969. She became Assistant Professor at Mankato State in 1969 until she retired. Waunda Mae was a member of the Minnesota State University "Presidents Circle" and established the Waunda Mae Wyndle endowment for nursing scholarships. Waunda Mae was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato and the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Mankato. Waunda Mae is survived by her cousin, Freda Skinner and other cousins.
