Abraham married on Nov 16 1830 in Iberville, Quebec, Canada to Isabelle Chartier (Isabelle will later be known as Isabelle or Elizabeth Shorkey in the US).
Children: Lewis, Abram, Thomas-Damase, Eliza, Onesime, Peter-Thomas, Angelle, Joseph, Napoleon, Alfred and Amedee/Meddie.
Abram death record listed him as Abram Bessette Sr. His age was given as 93 years, and a laborer born in PQ, no parents listed. Died on Sept 18 1885 in Whiting Vermont. His cause was given as old age.
A search of Pleasant Hill Cemetery led to finding no graves for Abram or Isabell, but it's possible they no longer have a stone or marker. Children: Lewis and his family, Joseph and his family, Abram Jr and his family, Meddie and his wife are all buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cornwall Vermont, so it seems to be the first Cemetery used for this Bessette/Bissett family. The remaining families are mainly buried in St Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Middlebury, Vermont.
Note: Some of this Bessette family used various spellings..
Bissett, Bissette, Bessett, Bessette
Two other children beside the ones shown below were:
Onesime b 1837 Quebec
Angelle b 1842 Quebec
No gravestone has ever been located for Abraham and his wife.
