OBITUARY.
Roxalana Collver, daughter of Ina P. and Dezire Collver, was born at Long Point, Norfolk Co., Ontario, Oct. 2, 1850, and passed away at her home in Red Oak Grove, Cedar county, Iowa, Oct. 13, 1921, being 71 years and 11 days of age.
When she was 2 years of age she came with her parents to Cedar Co., and her life has been identified with its development and the state. She was the last of 12 children to pass away.
Jan 7, 1869, she was married to Winchester Rickard and to this union were born, Descome Rickard of Stanwood, Mrs. Dezire Miller of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Melcena Fowlie of Red Oak Grove;, Cyrus Rickard of Tipton and Mrs. Ethel Beach of Newkirk, Oklahoma. One child having deceased.
Jan. 29, 1910, Mr. Rickard deceased.
Feb., 1913, she was married to Mr. John M. Bowser. Together they have maintained the home and further developed the home farm.
She was one of the earliest members of the Red Oak Methodist church and a consistent and faithful worker for all that uplifts. A true mother and wife writing into life history that great word, service.
Besides the husband and children she leaves to mourn her death six grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides other relatives and a host of friends she had the happy acuity of making and keeping.
During her recent illness of three weeks she bore her affliction with fortitude and expressed appreciation of kind help given. Death came as relief to intense suffering and the spirit passed to be with her Saviour.
Funeral services were conducted from the home Saturday afternoon by Rev. C. W. Cleveland, whose wife assisted him in the singing. Interment was in Red Oak Grove cemetery.
