William served during World War I with the U.S. Army 6th Division in Germany. He entered military service the first week of May 1918, according to a draftee list in the Beaver Dam Argus on April 18, 1918. Wm. lived at 127 E. South St. in Beaver Dam at the time.

William E. Arndorfer, 127 E. South St., Beaver Dam, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, here, Thursday afternoon, March 28, following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 9:30 a.m. at the Murray Funeral Home, and 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Rev. Peter E. Schwamb will officiate at the services and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The late Mr. Arndorfer was born on December 11, 1889 at St. Benedict, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arndorfer. He was married to the former Alma Zahn on Sept. 21, 1920. Mr. Arndorfer had been a resident of Beaver Dam since 1910, and was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, William, Robert, Donald, Ralph and Paul Arndorfer, all of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren; three brothers, Ray and Art Arndorfer, both of Green Bay, and John Arndorfer, of Algona, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Verona Daniel, Colby, Wis., and Miss O. F. Arndorfer, Milwaukee. Preceding in death were his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Arndorfer was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus.

Friends may call at the Murray Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, and until the hour of services on Monday morning. A Knights of Columbus vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. and a parish and Holy Name vigil at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
