Ira is the son of James and Harriet O'Dell.
This is where my family name took a change from O'Dell to Bowers. Lodema (Havens) Bowers was the sister of my Great Great Grandmother Harriet(Havens) O'Dell. When my Great Grandfather Ira O'Dell was just 15 months old his mother Harriett passed away. I can only guess that James B. O'Dell (Ira's father)not knowing how to or unable to care for baby Ira gave him to Lodema & her husband Jacob Bowers to raise, and as a result Ira became a Bowers.
