Funeral services for Lewis E. Childers, 70, of 1403 Mississippi Street, Monroe, were at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

Rev. Steven Nelson officiated, assisted by Rev. Virgil Wilson.

Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery near Columbia.

Mr. Childers died Saturday in St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a brief illness.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lola Reeves Childers of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Gray of Bossier City; two step daughters, Mrs. Ibell Cook of Columbia and Mrs. Bernadine Gore of Monroe; two step sons, Ausie Reeves of Bastrop and Don Reeves of West Monroe; six sisters, Mrs. Minnie Swayze, Mrs. Ethel Young and Mrs. Carrie Brashers, all of Malvern, Arkansas, Mrs. Ida Bell Womack of Camden, Arkansas, Mrs. Lorece Graves of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mrs. Ruby Guanica of El Paso, Texas; three brothers, Jewell Childers of Crossett, Arkansas, Wilburn Childers of Minden, Mack Childers of Houston, Texas; one grandchild, 14 step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Meredith, M. D. Felterberger, W. L. Cook, B. G. Mayes, Billy Kenworthy and Donnie Caldwell.
