POLLY STONE JONES, 76, Sulligent, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2005, at her residence. Born on July 5, 1929, in Lamar County, she was the daughter of the late Bathel Edison and Annie Marian Stark Stone. She was a 1949 graduate of Sulligent High School, attended the Pleasant Site Free Will Baptist Church and worked a number of years for Detroit Slacks in Detroit. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Jones, and brother Herbert Stone.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 10, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent with burial in the Carter Cemetery in Detroit. Bro. Eddie Williamson and Bro. Charles Gilbert and Bro. Larry Davis were the officiating ministers.
Survivors include her sons - Donald Wayne (Debbie) Jones, Winfield, Bobby Lynn Jones, Sulligent, and Lee (Jerri) Graham, Bainbridge, GA., grandchildren - Jennifer and Kayla Jones, Angionette Griffin and Matthew Graham; five great-grandchildren; brother - Bud (Mildred) Stone, Sulligent; sisters - Maurine Brown, Detroit, Helen Holloway, Vernon, Wanda (Wayne) Puckett, Greenwood Springs, Miss., and Frances (Ralph) Harrison, Sulligent.
Active pallbearers were Roger Brown, Phillip Watson, Richie Otts, Myron Stafford and Tim and Joel Puckett. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Stone, Craig Harrison, Jerry and Alan Brown, Larry and Tommy Jones and Danny Otts.
