RUTHVEN- Mrs. Stuart Davis, 75, died Monday afternoon at Spencer Municipal Hospital, Spencer, following a brief illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church in Ruthven, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Martin-Bails Funeral Home, Ruthven, is in charge.
Surviving are her husband, Stuart; children, James, Spokane, Wash; Paul, Rogers, Ark; Charles, Burlington, Marvin, Ruthven, Mrs. Melvin (Marjorie) Lyon, Atlanta, Ga.; Russell, Eagle Grove; 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and brother, Alfred Nelson, Ruthven.
Laura Nelson was born at Ruthven and married Stuart Davis in 1923 in Spencer. They farmed in the Ruthven area. She had attended the Ruthven schools and also Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa, and the Broadview Academy in LaGrange, Ill. She was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was also a member of The Cheerio Postcard Club, Ruthven.
