JACOB F. BAHRET
Jacob F. Bahret was born in Benningen, Wartemberg, Germany, December 1867 and died at his home near Havensville March 17, 1941.
At a comparatively early age he imigrated with his parents and family to the United States, settling near Bucks Grove. He spent his entire life in this vicinity.
Very early in life he was associated with the German Evangelical Church, but on coming to America he affiliated with the M.E. Church at Bucks Grove and for many years was a regular attendant of the church and Sunday School.
His life was spent in tilling the soil and caring for livestock. These activities were done cheerfully and well. He was permitted to retain this interest and activity until within a few days of his death.
Mr. Bahret's outstanding characteristic was his love for children; his thoughtfullness and attention to their desires and pleasures. This feeling was recipricated by the children of his brothers and sisters, and many children of the neighborhood. They all loved Uncle Jake.
He spent the latter twenty-five years of his life in the home of his brother Albert.
Of the immediate family only one sister, Mrs. Frankie Bottom survives. Many nieces, nephews, and friends today mourn his passing.
Burial 19 Mar 1941
