Emslie Magnolia Craig was born to William T. Craig and Sarah Ann Jordan, on 11 November 1878, in Breckenridge, Stephens, Texas. Soon after her birth, the Craig family moved into Indian Territory.

Emslie was married twice. She married Robert Lee Horton on 10 February 1895, in Mill Creek, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (now Johnston county,Oklahoma). She had 8 children with Robert: Josie Rae, Walter Bryan (Sr), Odus Clyde, Hubert Howard, Susan Leola, Baby Horton (died very young), Robert Lee,Jr., and Edgar Marion Horton. Robert Lee Horton,Sr. died on 19 Dec 1927 (in Little Rock,AR). His burial place is unknown.

Her second marriage was to Richard John Naylor on 27 November 1928, in Deaf Smith county, Texas. There were no children born to this union. R.J. Naylor died in Deaf Smith county, Texas on 21 Nov 1958. He was laid to rest in Fordyce, Dallas, Arkansas. His death left Emslie a widow for the second time and quite heartbroken.
