Wayne Derryberry, age 76, of Hector, died Monday, February 10, 2003, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. A son of the late Gilbert Leon and Alice Bell Mathis Derryberry, he was born March 6, 1926, at Hector. He was a retired farmer and attended the Evangelistic Fellowship Church at Appleton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Derryberry and Lynn Derryberry; and three sisters, Selma Scott, Lucille Hassel and Getsey Pettycord. Survivors include his wife, Betty Derryberry; two daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy and Randy Mewborn of Hector; and Shelley and Brent Chenowith of Russellville; a sister, Willa Belle Hammer of Chico, Texas; three grandchildren: Randy Allen Mewborn, Kasey Michelle Mewborn and Jonathan Wayne Mewborn; and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside service and burial will be 1 P.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at Walnut Grove Cemetery near Hector, with Rev. Sandy Garrigus and Rev. Darwin Barnhouse officiating. Arrange-ments are by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers will be Dwight Turner, Amos Pettycord, James Pettycord, Ricky Pettycord, Allen Mewborn, Randy Mewborn and Brent Chenowith.
