Born January 05, 1923 at Sallisaw, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Alice Mathis Derryberry. He was retired from the construction and quarry operation business and a former member of the Pope County Fox Hunters Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal on May 21, 2001; a brother, Lynn Derryberry; and a sister, Selma Johns.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jay Griffin and Peggy and Darrell Thompson, all of Russellville; a brother, Wayne Derryberry of Hector, Arkansas; three sisters, Lucille Hassell of Atkins, Arkansas, Gatsey Pettycord of Waveland, Arkansas and Willie Belle Hammer of Chico, California; and two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Dennis and Shannon Griffinof Russellville and Jason and Kim Thompson pf Appleton.
Graveside service was at Oakland Cemetery by the Rev. Doug Little. Arrangements bare by Shinn Funeral Service.
