WALLACE, PEARL CLARK (1916-2006)
Born Pearl Clark to Edward and Effie (Stephen) Clark in Arthur, Iowa. Siblings included: Bob, Earl, Lillian (Thomson) and Arvilla (Urban). She grew up and received her education in Arthur, graduating from Arthur High School in 1934. She married Clyde Wallace on November 26, 1944 in Ida Grove, Iowa. They had 3 children: Beverly (Bower), Larry and James, 7 grandchildren: Brent Bower, Renee (Bower) Fritz, Michelle (Wallace) Lulf, Sarah (Wallace) Tarr, Christopher Wallace, Lee Wallace and Kory Wallace and 7 great grandchildren.
The couple farmed for many years in the Battle Creek and surrounding areas. In their retirement, they served as custodians for schools in Battle Creek and Storm Lake.
Rev. Rod Dunker officiated at the funeral in St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, Iowa. Cindy Wilcke was organist with Renee Fritz, vocal soloist. She sang "In the Garden Medley" and "The Lord's Prayer". Congregational hymns were "Beautiful Savior" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Pallbearers were: Dirk Fritz, Glen Wallace, Kenneth Wallace, Corey Tarr, Terry Thomson and Melvin Wallace.
Pearl was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek where she served in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Battle Creek Library Board and enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and caring for children in her home.

Pearl (Clark) Wallace, 90, of Battle Creek, Iowa, daughter of Edward and Effie (Stephen) Clark, was born Aug. 17, 1916, in Arthur, Iowa, and passed away Sept. 23, 2006, at Horn Memorial Hospital, Ida Grove, Iowa. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek, Ia.

She was educated in Arthur, Iowa, graduating from Arthur High School in 1934.

On Nov. 26, 1944, she married Clyde Wallace in Ida Grove. Three children were born to this union, Beverly, Larry, and James. Pearl and Clyde farmed many years in Battle Creek and surrounding areas. In their retirement, they served as custodians in Battle Creek and Storm Lake, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and caring for children in her home.

Survivors include 3 children, Beverly and husband, Kenneth Bower, Larry Wallace and wife Terri; and James Wallace of Tucson, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde in 1988; and a daughter-in-law, Lois Ann Wallace; 2 brothers, Bob and Earl Clark; and 2 sisters, Lillian Thomson and Arvilla Urban.
