Archie Johnson
Archie Johnson, 64, Shady Lake Estates, a University employee for more than 30 years, died Tuesday morning at the University Medical Center. Before retiring in 1969, he was University assistant purchasing supervisior. Mr. Johnson was born July 15, 1906, in Boone County to William and Liza Annie Sword Johnson. He married Pauline Cook Johnson in 1928. Survivors include his wife; one son, Bobby Johnson, 419 Hirth Ave; one brother, Clinton Johnson, Sturgeon; a sister, Mrs. Lecil Jennings, 414 Price Ave; his mother, who lives at 414 Price Ave; and seven grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. C.B. Hess of Baptist Temple Church. Burial will be in Glendale Gardens, Centralia.
