Ada W. Vause, 102, of Hawthorne, died Monday, December 20, 1999, at North Florida Special Care Center in Gainesville after an extended illness.
She was a native of Hawthorne and a lifelong resident of Putnam County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne and a homemaker. She had retired after 15 years as a school teacher with the Putnam County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Vause and by a son, Treston Vause.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Joan Ellen Vause, Susan Palmer, and Nancy Vause, all of Hawthorne; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Palmer, Kelley Palmer and A. J. Palmer, all of Hawthorne.
Graveside services will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Hawthorne Cemetery with Bro. Charles Litzell officiating.
Friends may call today, 5-7 p.m. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 22 Dec 1999.)
