Tom Anderson

Graveside services for Tom Anderson, 90, of Sweetwater were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial followed under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Anderson died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.

He was born March 7, 1918, in Rattan, Okla. He was a retired conductor for Santa Fe Railroad and was a World War II Army veteran. Anderson was a member of the Church of Christ. He had been a member of the VFW and the Elks Lodge and had worked with the Boy Scouts. Anderson enjoyed hunting rattlesnakes.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Anderson of Sweetwater; two sons, Leslie Tom Anderson and wife Margaret of Garland and Ronald Lee Anderson of San Marcos; one sister, Johnnie Mae Emond of Georgetown; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Annie Anderson; four brothers; and five sisters.
