VET, DIES AT 50
John G. Fowler, fifty, well-known farmer of the Grace Chapel community near Granite Falls, died Wednesday in the veterans' hospital at Johnson City, Tenn.
Funeral services are planned Friday at twelve o'clock noon, Eastern War Time, at Grace Chapel Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. Max Brandon, in charge.
Mr. Fowler, who served overseas in the first World War, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Fowler. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Greta Guthrie; three sons, Billy, Ralph, and Cloyd; a daughter, Mrs. H.P. Mackie, Jr., three brothers, G. W., J. W., and D. B. Fowler, all of Granite Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Martin and Miss Lettie Fowler, both of Granite Falls, and Mrs. W. Z. Veasey of Hickory.
