EARNEST "ERNIE" lEE EDWARD BENNETT, El Dorado Springs, died Saturday, Jan.29, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Dade County to Edward & Sitha Angeline (Vaughn) Bennett. He married Pearl Ellen Thornton Sept. 27, 1941, & the couple made their home in Dade County until June, 1968, when they moved to El Dorado Springs. He was employed by Fugate Motors until his retirement in 1987. He was saved at an early age & rededicated his life to the Lord in 1995. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Pearl Ellen Bennett of the home; a son Tom Bennett & wife Pauline of El Dorado Springs; three daughters, Kathleen "Kay" Daniel & husband Randy of Greenfield, Cheryl Norman & husband Dave of El Dorado Springs and Patty Ward & husband Bill of Battlefield; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He was precede in death by his parents, Edward & Sitha Bennett; a sister, Nora Dill; and four brothers, Loyd Bennett, Troy Bennett, Milton Bennett, and Everett Bennett. Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 1, at Hackelman Chapel, El Dorado Springs, with Brent Bland Officiating. Burial was in Corry cemetery near Dadeville under direction of Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home. Musical selections were provided by Mr. & Mrs. Howard Bennett and George Bennett. Pallbearers were Joshua Norman, Joey Norman, Jake Norman, Bill Ward, Rick Bennett, and Matt Bennett.
