Mr. Horace Hubert Swanson, age 83, of McDonough, Ga. died Sept. 25, 2005. Mr. Swanson was born Nov. 27, 1921 in Towns County, Ga., the son of the late Bertha Lee Tatum and Erastus Burt Swanson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Burt Swanson, in 1956. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of McDonough, past president of the McDonough Lions Club, a graduate of the University of Georgia, served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Ford Motor Company as a cost analyst with 36 years of service. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed reading and gardening.
Survivors are his loving wife of 57 years, Marcia Fisher Swanson; daughter, Marcia Ann Swanson; grandchildren, Susanna Lee Swanson and Annemarie Swanson; great grandson Logan Knause all of McDonough; sisters, Virginia McClure of Hayesville, N.C. and Charlotte Garrett of Young Harris, Ga.; sister-in-law, Agnes Beers of McDonough; brother-in-law, Lewis Fisher of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.Interment will be at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
