Charles Hillard was the son of Margaret Morrison (about 1760 - after 1840) and Guy H. Hillard (1753-1827).

The 1803 Tax List of Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania shows Charles, a single man, owning 400 acres. The North Eastern corner of Slippery Rock Township became Venango Township in 1804.

He married Nancy Roberts (1787-1847) about 1809 in Butler County, Pennsylvania.

Zachariah B. (1814-1866)
• Mary Ann Rumberger (1816-1893)
Nancy Jane (1826-1904)

The 1860 U.S. census states he and Eliza (1791-after 1860) were living in Petersburg, Connoquenssing Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.

Charles and Nancy are buried at the Mount Varnum Cemetery, Washington Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. It is believed that Eliza is also buried there.
