Funeral services for G. T. Lavender, 75, former resident of Lamar County, who Sunday morning died at his home in Texarkana were held at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at Hopewell cemetery. The Revs. Ira C. Kiker and W. B. Arnold conducted the service.
Pall bearers were Sid Caviness, John Davidson, E. W. McEwing, Jesse Caviness, Jim Huddle and J. C. Gambill.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. L. C. (Lovie) Wisely of Sumner, two sisters, Mrs. Isaac (Sarah) Haddock and Miss Maude Lavender of Athens, Ga; five brothers, Leroy, John and Robert Lavender of Athens, Ga., Ed Lavender of Pennsylvania, and Dalt Lavender of North Dakota.
George and his daughter Lovie came to Texas about 1901. He never remarried.
