Albert Clendennen

Albert Clendennen, a resident of Bluffton since 1977, coming from Austin, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12 in Kingsland at the age of 106. He was born on Oct. 11, 1902, to Emma (Gooch) and F.M. Clendennen in Tow.


Mr. Clendennen was a retired barber and had also retired from the City of Austin as an electrician. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and would deliver vegetables from his garden to the Cherokee Children's Home.


He was married to Ruth (Miller) Clendennen on Sept. 3, 1926, in Austin, who preceded him in death in 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents and many brothers and sisters.


Survivors include daughters, Emma J. Harris and husband Dan of Bluffton, Mildred Pauline Banks and husband Don of Burnet, and Peggy Marie Krueger of Austin; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.


A graveside service was Friday, Nov. 14 at Bluffton Cemetery at 3 p.m., with Bro. Doug Suggs officiating.
