CLARENCE HOWARD POOR
Funeral services for Clarence Howard Poor, 86, of Parkhill will be held at 10 am October 14, 2002 at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Parkhill Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Clarence Howard Poor was born January 14, 1916 in Washington County Arkansas, the son of Steve Joseph and May Cora Evaline (Parker) Poor. He departed this life on October 11, 2002 in Muskogee.
Clarence moved to Burnt Cabin area of Lake Tenkiller when he was 5 years old.
He attended Sellers Mission School.
Clarence married Thelma Marie Carr on March 28, 1942. They lived in Tulsa where he was a heavy equipment operator for Empire Construction.
They returned to Cherokee County where Clarence enjoyed gardening, he was an avid fisherman.
Clarence was a member of Etta Bend Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie in 1997; five brothers, Nelson, Willard, Leonard, Cecil and Jim Poor; four sisters, Mallie Raincrow, Opal Candy, Edith Fields and Annie Phillips.
Clarence is survived by his son and his wife, Allen Joe (Jeanell) Poor of Purcell; two sisters, Fannie Dick of Burnt Cabin and Vinnie Candy of Tahlequah; two brothers, Duckett West Poor of Parkhill and Jack Poor of Burnt Cabin. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
