Born in Laurens County, September 23, 1945, Mr. Brinson graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1963, received a B.S. degree from North Georgia College in 1967 and graduated with high honors from the School of Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a 1st Lieutenant in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
Stephen E. Brinson, Sr., was First Vice President, Branch Administration, Regions Financial Institution. He began his career with the First National Bank of Gainesville on December 1, 1969, and continued under Regions Bank for a total of 32 years. Steve has always been known for his "fantastic" attitude, his high ethical standards and his desire for others to succeed. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Brinson had served as President of the Lula PTA. He also coached in the Youth Sports baseball and basketball programs. During this period, he coached his son and five others for four consecutive years, having an undefeated season the final year. He had previously been a member of the East Hall Parent Support Group, the Gainesville Jaycees, the Hall County 4-H Advisory Council. Presently he was a member of the North Georgia Historical and Genealogical Society, Hall County Farm Bureau and the Hall County Soil and Water Conservation District. He was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic genealogist. Mr. Brinson was a member of Air Line Baptist Church, having served as a Deacon, Church Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Beverly Reynolds Brinson, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Tabitha D. Brinson, Gainesville; parents, John W., Sr. and Billie Brinson, Warner Robins, GA; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ann Brinson, Warner Robins; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Steve Walker, Centerville, GA; sister, Kelly Spell, Centerville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Willonell Reynolds and several nieces and nephews.
