Mrs. Augusta (Weinkauff) Dowdell, of 1108 Evans avenue, Valparaiso, died Saturday morning in Clearwater hospital, Clearwater, Fla., following a short illness.
The decedent was born Feb. 18, 1880 in Porter county, and was married to Earl C. Dowdell March 24, 1902.
For a number of years the Dowdells have resided in Florida during the winter months, maintaining a home at Largo.
Mrs. Dowdell was a member of the First Methodist church, College City Camp No. 3122, Royal Neighbors, auxiliary of local U. S. VFW camp, and a number of social groups. She was a great lover of flowers.
Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. A. E. Wiesjohn, Hobart, and Mrs. Floyd Casbon, Valparaiso; one son, Richard O. Dowdell, Valparaiso; one sister, Mrs. Otto Grieger, Valparaiso; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The remains left Clearwater Sunday night and will arrive in Valparaiso Tuesday morning.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist church, the Rev. Harvey J. Kieser officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the LePell funeral home and until Wednesday noon.
