Death, sudden and unexpected, claimed the life of John Weinkauf, prominent Morgan township farmer, Friday night at 6 o'clock, when he dropped dead from a heart attack at his home. Though he had been in poor health since last spring, his untimely demise was a great shock to members of his family and large circle of relatives and friends.
Born on May 19, 1873, on a farm in Morgan township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weinkauf, pioneer residents of that region, Mr. Weinkauf followed farming as an occupation. All his life was spent in the township of his birth.
Surviving the decedent are a wife, five sons, Clarence, Leslie, Link, Emory and John, Jr., and two daughters, Lillian and a baby daughter. He also leaves one brother, Gus Weinkauf, of Valparaiso, and the following sisters, all of Valparaiso: Mrs. Earl C. Dowdell, Mrs. L. W. Bloch, Mrs. Julius Bloch, Mrs. Bernard Koselke and Mrs. August Koselke.
Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the family home, and at 1:30 o'clock from the Evangelical church in Wanatah. Burial will be in the Wanatah cemetery.
