Some researchers have included an additional child: a Simeon J. Bernhard and have as his spouse, Sarah Jane Clower. This is in ERROR.
Sarah Jane Clower married Edwin M. Bernhard, son of Jacob's brother, John N. Bernhard. Edwin left Mississippi prior to his marriage to Sarah Jane Clower in Henry Co., GA on 22 December 1859. Edwin clearly states that he was born in Mississippi on the 1860 Henry Co., GA census.
To date, there has been found no documentation or proof that a Simeon J. Bernhard ever existed, or was a child of Jacob and Ester Bernhard.
