Bonham - Tom Robert Dobbs, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Bonham.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, in Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham with the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Hopewell Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dobbs was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Paris, a son of John William and Lillie Mae Deck Dobbs.

He married Helen Chadwell March 3, 1941. She died Nov. 15, 1961.

He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Kelly Masonic Lodge in San Antonio. He was a retired service station attendant and a Baptist.

Surviving are four daughters, Shirley Ann Turner of Mesquite, Nancy Carol Monk and Judith Mae Borel, both of Grand Prairie, and Virginia Gail Broyles of Steegler, OK; three sons, George William Dobbs of Mesquite, Gary Lee Dobbs of Grand Prairie and Leslie Chester Dobbs of Arlington; two sisters, Johnny Mae Hudspeth of Bonham and his twin, Martha Alma Ray of Bonham; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert A. Dobbs and Thomas Ray Dobbs.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray, Bobby Ray, Joe Ray, George Dobbs, Gary Dobbs and Leslie Dobbs.
