Listed on cemetery records as "supposed" to be William Boyd, aged about 45 years. An unknown man with no identification was found on the pilot of a passenger train as it arrived in Springfield. He was taken to St. John's Hospital where he died. He was at first thought to be an Indian based on features of his face. He was later identified as William Boyd, an employee of the Chicago & Alton railroad and sent here by an employment agency at St. Louis. It was said he came to St. Louis from Colorado, that he was of mixed descent and was a part blooded Sioux Indian. No relatives were located.
