William R. Tipton died at his home in Oneonta, Ala., March 11. He was the son of John (James) W.and Ella Tipton who resided in Covington County all their lives. He was reared on the farm and was educated in University of Alabama and Peabody Teachers College in Nashville.
Tipton taught in the Blount County, Alabama high schools for the past 18 years. He was a life long member of the Methodist Church.
He was buried in Oneonta March 11. Dr. Paul Doyle was his pastor and was in charge of services at Lester Memorial Church.
