An area resident most of her life, she was born in the town of Collins, Erie County, N.Y., March 15, 1917, the daughter of Archie and Alma Philbrick Ackley. She was the widow of Frederick G. Shelters, whom she married March 24, 1938, in Frewsburg, and who died September 7, 1973. Surviving are a daughter, Sharon E. Morey (Ben), with whom she made her home, two sons: Frederick L. Shelters (Nancy) and Dennis W. Shelters Sr. (Peggy), all of Falconer; seven grandchildren: eighteen great grandchildren,Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Reuben B. Ackley May 19, 1982, and Leo E. Ackley September 7, 1999, and a sister, Lula A. Wheeler October 17, 2000.
