Isaac Campfield, 90, died unexpectedly in his sleep early Friday morning at his home 218 Fourth Street, North Vernon, he had been in good health and had worked Thursday all day.
A native of Jennings County, born June 17, 1871, Mr. Campfield had been a farmer in the Four Corners community prior to moving to North Vernon several years ago. After coming to North Vernon he worked as a farmer and logger. He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, North Vernon.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Luella Stout of North Vernon and Mrs. Matilda Wilber of Muncie; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. His wife, Mary, preceded him in death several years earlier.
Rosary services will be recited at 7:30 o'clock Sunday night at the home of Mr. Campfield's daughter, Mrs. Mary L. Stout, 214 East O and M Avenue, North Vernon, where the casket will be open after 1 o'clock this afternoon until time of the funeral.
Funeral services were held at eight o'clock Monday morning at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Bernard Koopman in charge. Burial was held in Four Corners at Four Corners Cemetery (St. Joseph's) under direction of the Dowd Funeral Home, North Vernon.
