Orie F. Phillips, 82, of Peoria, formerly of Newton, died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 1984 in the Fondulac Nursing Home in East Peoria. Funeral services were held at 11 this morning (Thursday) in the Endsley and Sons funeral home in Peoria with Rev. James Sanby officiating. Visitation was Wednesday evening. Burial was in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Mr. Phillips was born Nov. 12, 1901, in Newton, a son of John and Alice (Yincks) Phillips. He married Grace King on Oct. 4, 1930, in Newton, and she survives. He was a retired maintenance man for Caterpillar Tractor Co. Also surviving are a son, James of Peoria; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Orie Phillips lived in Peoria, Illinois and was in the city directory in 1948 at 110 Charles Street and working for the Caterpillar Co.
