He was a native of Madison County, and had resided in Haywood County most of his life. He was the son of the late William Theodore Moore and Susan Moore. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 ½ years, Geraldine Balding Moore, in September, 2007. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Haddock. He fought in the Korean War, was the Pastor of four churches (Fairview Baptist, Hemphill Baptist, Belmont Baptist and Meadow Fork Baptist Church) and was a deputy sheriff in Waynesville. He was a member of North Hazelwood Baptist Church. Reverend Moore was a man who lived and preached by the grace and mercy of God. He was a man of integrity, courage and strength. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Arceneaux and her husband, Mario, of Simpsonville, SC and Kathy Elaine Lance of Asheville; two sons, Larry Moore of Candler and Keith Moore and his wife, Gail, of Pauline, SC; two brothers, Coy Moore of Meadow Fork, NC, and Hall Moore of Marshall, NC; a sister, Alda Smith Bradley of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Zachary Hannah, and Lyndsey and Krystian Thomas Lance and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow at Meadow Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
