A. C. 'Archie' Ballard, 79, Rt. 1, Brookston, died at his home Tuesday, March 31, 1998.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home with Haskell England officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born Sep. 20, 1918, in Biardstown, a son of James Allen and Dora Hall Ballard.
He married Lorene Utz in 1938. She died in 1981.
He later married Rosie Morton Ballard and she died in 1997.
He was a rancher and member of Bonham Street Church of Christ.
Surviving are five son, Jerry Ballard and wife Lois of Brookston, Clayton Ballard and wife Brenda of Paris, Freddy Ballard and wife Leann, Kenneth Ballard, and Rickey Ballard, all of Brookston; three daughters, Peggy Dickson and husband Larry of Powderly, Linda Ashford of Reno and Brenda Moore of Paris; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven stepchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Usry, Ronald Usry, Lee Parson, Hershel Ballard, Dewayne Ballard and Larry Ballard.
