Son of Charles & Mary (Reynolds) DePuy; siblings - Louisa, Marinda, Edgar, Anne, Charles and Andrew. Married Clara Emma Bloomer on 15 August 1889 in Wabash Co, Indiana; they were the parents of Clara Mary (Barger) and Charles Bloomer DePuy.

DEPUY FUNERAL HELD AT JESUP
Former Associates in Methodist Episcopal Ministry Take Part In Services at Church

Jesup, Iowa.-Funeral services for Rev. Orin Charles DePuy, who spent 31 years as an active minister in Upper Iowa conference of the Methodist Episcopal church, was conducted in the church here Tuesday afternoon. He formerly was pastor here.

Rev. Roscoe B. Sires, present pastor, preached the eulogy. Rev. Thomas J. Elwick, a former pastor, read the obituary, and Dr. W. W. Bowers, Waterloo, offered prayer. Hymns were sung by Mrs. C. L. Fox, Mrs. D. E. Western, H. T. McKibben and Glen Blakeman.

Ministers who were ballbearers were: Rev. Fred Fisher, Waterloo; Rev. Frank P. Shafer, Dumont; Rev. Samuel Knoer, Dunkerton; Rev. George W. McConkey, Edgewood.

Rev. Mr. DePuy died at Centerville, Iowa, Saturday. A brief service was held there Monday morning by Rev. L. H. Lanming.

Rev. Mr. DePuy was 74 years old. He is survived by his widow, a son, Charles, of Centerville, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl Barger, Chicago; and three grandchildren: Jean Barger, Chicago, Ill., and Jacqueline and Charlotte DePuy.

Charges on which the veteran minister served were: Asbury, on the Dubuque circuit, 1890-94; Farley, 1894-98; Hopkinton, 1898-1900; Grandview Avenue in Dubuque, 1900-01; Strawberry Point, 1901-05; Edgewood, 1905-08; Jesup, 1908-12; Wyoming, 1912-15; retired, 1915-18, effective at Floyd, 1918-25; retired 1925; supplied at Raymond one year, retired and lived at Jesup until June, 1931, when he and Mrs. DePuy went to Centerville, Ia., to reside with their son, Charles.
