Daughter of Joseph & Phebe (Van Dyke) Bloomer; siblings - Mary Catherine (Neff), Benjamin Van Dyke (killed in the Civil War), Elijah Overman, Francena Jane (Harper), John Francis, Abigail (Hackney), George Ellis and Phebe Ellen (Teeter).

Married Rev. Orin DePuy on 15 August 1889 in Wabash Co, Indiana; they were the parents of Clara Mary (Barter) and Charles Bloomer DePuy.

"Widow of Former M. E. Minister at Jesup Dies"
Jesup, Ia.-- Mrs. Clara E. DePuy, 69, widow of Rev. Orin Charles DePuy, a former Methodist minister here, died at 10 p. m. Sunday at the home of a son, Charles, Centerville, Ia.

Mrs. DePuy had lived in Jesup for three years preceding her residence in Centerville, where she had lived for the last two years. She also lived in Jesup from 1908 to 1912, while her husband served in the ministry.

Her last residence in Jesup and Centerville was following her husband's retirement. He died in 1932, and was buried at Cedar Crest cemetery in Jesup, where Mrs. DePuy will be buried.

Clara Emma Bloomer was born in 1865, in Wabash County, Indiana, the youngtest of nine children of Joseph Bloomer and Phebe Van Dyke Bloomer. She was married to Rev. Mr. DePuy on August 15, 1889 in Somerset, Wabash County, Ind.

Surviving are her son and a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Clara Mary) Barger, Chicago, who was at her bedside.
