Mrs. Rozalia Guzowski, 84, Iron River, died Thursday, January 13 at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee.
Mrs. Guzowski was born November 25, 1887 at Gdansk, Poland and came to the United States in 1904, first settling in Massachusetts. A year later, she moved to Detroit, where she was employed for a year. In 1910 at St. Agnes Church, Iron River, she married Stanley Guzowski and he preceded her in death in 1948.
Mrs. Guzowski was a member of Assumption Church, Ladies of Mary, Rosary Sodality and the Polish National Alliance.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Frances Komblevicz and Miss Celia Guzowski, Iron River, Mrs. Edward (Mary) Bedeski, Detroit, Mrs. Stanley (Helen) Hanus, Chicago, Mrs. Joseph (Emma) Zehaluk, Southfield, Mich., Mrs. Joseph (Freda) Hojmaki, Warren, Mich., and Mrs. James (Eleanor) Mundt, Milwaukee; two sons, Stanley, Royal Oak and Edward, Detroit. Twenty-three grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren also survive.
The parish rosary was recited at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held at 9:45 a.m. Monday, January 17 at the Duvall Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church. The Rev. Fr. Raymond Smith intoned the requiem mass.
Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery.
