IRON RIVER--Lorraine F. Guzowski, 78, of 520 Fourth Avenue, passed away on Nov. 11 at the Iron County Community Hospital.
She was born February 26, 1924 in Crystal Falls, the daughter of the late Albin and Francis [Frances] (Burk) Johnson. She attended the Bates and Iron River Schools. She worked at the former Sweet Corner Grocery Store in Iron River for many years. In 1976 she was employed by the Iron County General Hospital as a Ward Clerk, retiring in 1989.
She was "Mother of the Year" in 1975. She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thanks to Iron County Community Hospital staff and Dr. Han for the wonderful care given to Lorraine.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas, on October 15, 1967 [1976] and a brother Bill Johnson, and a sister Cleo Contardi.
She is survived by three sons, James of Iron River, William (Nancy) of Green Bay and Mike of Arizona; three daughters, Helen (Mike) Dallas of Green Bay, Donna (Steve) Gritton of Evanston, Ill., Toni (Randy) Smith of Minn.; one brother Jim (Joyce) Johnson of Iron River; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and nieces and nephews.
No visitation. Private services were held. Interment at Resthaven Cemetery. Funeral
arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
