Died 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 1993, in Monroe. She was 97 and a resident of Oakdale. She was the original owner of the Jack & Jill Shop. Visiting at Ardoin's Funeral Home, Oakdale, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting after 8 a.m. until religious services at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Tom McCurley. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery.
Survived by a son, L.C. Ford, Oakdale; two daughters, Verone Dodd, Baton Rouge, and Doris Medley, Monroe; a brother, Orville Hanchey, Natchitoches; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakdale, a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and B.P.W. of Oakdale.
