Lydia Bleazard, 68, formerly of 150 E. South Temple, died Dec 8 of natural causes in a Salt Lake nursing home. Born Jan 9, 1904, Thayne Wyo., to Caleb D. and Elizabeth D. Merritt Bleazard. Member LDS Church. survivors; sister, Mrs Emma Titensor, Grover, Wyo. Funeral Tuesday 1 p.m. Schwab Mortuary, Afton, Wyo.
Friends call 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake city, Monday 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Schwab Mortuary one hour prior to services. Burial Afton City Cemetery.
Lydia Bleazard Dies in Utah
Memorial services were held at the Schwab Mortuary in Afton Tuesday under the auspices of the Larkin Mortuary of Salt Lake city for a former Star Valley resident, Lydia Bleazard,68, who died at the Temple Gardens Convalescent Home in Salt Lake City Dec 8, 1972 of a prolonged illness. Burial was in the Afton Cemetery.
A viewing and memorial service was held at the Larkin Undertaking Parlor in Salt Lake City Monday. Accompanying the remains to Afton and assisting with burial were Jack Tittensor, Glen Bleazard and family members.
She was born in January 1904 at Thayne, Wyo., a daughter of Caleb D. and Diana Merritt Bleazard. She attended grade school in Bedford where she resided for most of her childhood. She graduated from Star Valley High School in 1924. The family lived in Afton during the summers and Mesa Ariz., in winters until her father died in 1940.
Lydia and her mother spent each winter in Salt Lake City, returning to their home in Afton in summer until health problems forced them to stay in Salt Lake City.
When Lydia's health worsened and she needed constant care, she entered the LDS Hospital and a convalescent home, where she spent her final year before her death.
She is survived by a sister, Emma Tittensor of Grover.
