Annie Haveron was the daughter of Michael McCarthy and Mary McCarthy, nee Hickey, both of whom were born in Ireland. In approximately 1900, Annie married William Joseph Haveron. They had seven children, all girls, named Dorothy, Genevieve, Anna Marie, Veronica, Irene, Madeline, and Gertie. In 1919, William Joseph died during the Spanish influenza pandemic, and Annie became a widow at the age of 38. It is known that in 1920 Annie's mother Mary McCarthy was living with Annie and her six surviving daughters. They made it through some very difficult times by relying on their faith, by looking out for each other, and by keeping a positive view of life. She taught her daughters that they could overcome anything. Her daughters spoke fondly of their mother decades after her death and loved telling their children and grandchildren what a wonderful, down-to-earth woman Annie was. One of their favorite stories of their mother showed how she got her family through lean times, including the Great Depression. When Annie asked guests if they would like a little water in their tea, they replied that they would like a little tea in their tea. Annie worked very hard at providing a home for her beloved daughters. She is buried with three of her daughters and a son-in-law.

The seven daughters of William Joseph and Annie spanned an entire century; the eldest was born in 1902 and the youngest, the last to pass away, died in 2003.

PLEASE NOTE. The photographs are of Annie's children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. To this date, no photographs of Annie herself have been found.
