THE MORNING HERALD, TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 1925 - Wedding Anniversary - Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Monk celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Saturday afternoon and evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Clemons, Jr., of Oppenheim. Refreshments were served on the lawn. Mr. and Mrs. Monk were presented with a purse of money.

Amsterdam Evening Recorder, Monday, December 28, 1931 ~ ST. JOHNSVILLE, Dec 28th ~ Mrs. Emma Butler Monk, 78, Widow of Marshall Monk, former resident of Lassellsville, died suddenly Saturday afternoon, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Seward Countryman, North Division street Death was due to a heart attack. Mrs. Monk was a life-long member of the Methodist Church at Lassellsville and of the Ladles' Aid society of the church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Chloe) Soules and Mrs. Seward (Margaret) Countryman, St. Johnsville; one son, Wilbur Monk. Lassellsville: one niece, Mrs. Julia Graham, and one nephew, J. B. Butler, Dallas City, Ill., 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Tuesday with a prayer service at 1 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Countryman, this village, and at the Methodist church, Lassellsville, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. R. B. Fishbeck of the Methodist Episcopal Church, this village, officiating. Interment will be made in the Monk plot in the Dempster Cemetery, Lassellsville.
